Game Brainstorm

I have brainstormed four different kinds of games ideas. Apple Run, Starfish, Colour Me and Game to Pass Your Driving.

Chasing Game

This first game I came up with would be called something along the lines of Apple Run. Apple run would include an apple which is the main character, a girl who is the enemy, and some worms. The purpose of this game would be for the apple to run away from the girl while there are obstacles on the way and also worms crawling on the ground, meaning if the apple would step on the worm that the apple would get eaten by them and die. The girl would be behind the apple running after it because she loves apples and it's her favourite snack but the apple would be running for its life trying to get away from the girl. It would work something like "Among Us" and "Temple Run" combined. This is a chasing game and the only way for the apple to run quicker is to collect water drops while running which will give him the energy to speed up. I would be interested in this game because I like playing games that bring my adrenaline up like Flappy Bird for example. Flappy Bird is great because it seems easy but it actually isn't easy at all and my adrenaline goes high when playing it because I always lose after a few goes and want to play more. I am interested in games that have a similar pattern but then something changes like for example the obstacles get changed or there are fewer raindrops which would mean the apple could get caught and the girl would eat it. If I decide to go with this game idea I will be excited to create it and all of the obstacles that will go with it. Another example of a game that is similar to this would be subway surf where you are running on a train and collecting coins and getting a high score.

This next game is some inspiration from my childhood. As a kid every time I would go to Lithuania to visit my family, friends, and my grandparents I would bring out this game and it looked like a pyramid and I would have all these different coloured rings of all kinds of sizes and the game was designed to make you more focused and concentrated so I would have to toss the rings from a distance to get onto the pyramid and try not to miss it. I would change my distance each time to challenge myself. This game seemed very fun so I decided to come up with a game that would be called Starfish. Starfish would be a game that allowed you to toss different types of rings on a starfish and once you hit the limit you win and then after some minutes, the starfish could start moving to make the game harder to play. I am not sure if the game would still be called starfish but since you can add arms onto a starfish and make the game more difficult it sounded like a good idea to me. I was also thinking about an octopus since it has many hands going in all kinds of directions and the rings would be hard to get on. Some other animals I was thinking to use were a shark and make different size rings so that you start from the bottom and finish at the top because the shark would be fatter on the bottom and thinner on the top making the shark look like a pyramid shape. This game would be more on a difficult level. I was also thinking to make a cactus shape since it can have many cacti growing from all directions making the game more interesting.

→After reading this article I remebered about the games I used to play as a kid and came up with the idea 20 indoor games to keep the kids entertained on a cold or rainy day.

Colour Me

This next game could be called something like Colour Me. This game could be more relaxing and for people with anxiety or stress including myself. Every time I am anxious I get a page and a pen or a pencil and start doodling to get my mind off things. After thinking about what games relax me I came up with this idea. At first, I was thinking of drawing a kitten and then you could colour that kitten in any colour you want but now I'm thinking of all kinds of fun things like realistic cars, cups, flowers and so on. You could do your own designs and let your creative mind run free. This is not a game to get your adrenaline running but more to relax and enjoy drawing or colouring something. Colouring improved my anxiety, it helped me relax before going to bed and it made me more focused. I realized since I was a child that every time I would start colouring it was like everything around me went away and I was calm in my own quiet space just relaxing while colouring pictures that my grandad would draw for me. This would be a great game for someone who struggles with focusing or has anxiety and needs some relaxing time. This game would be great for anyone even kids because some kids need that relaxing time to get through their homework and even adults need that relaxing time during the stressful day. This is definitely one of my top ideas and I would be excited to create a game like that

The last game would be called something along the lines of Game to pass your driving. This game is all about learning road signs in Ireland and their meaning for example a orange background on a sign means that it's a temporary sign and it is to do with road works. When I was learning for my theory there were no games on road signs and I had to use a book to find information so I think this game would be useful for people trying to learn their signs for a driving test or theory test. This last game is not something I am 100% positive I would like to do but it is an idea that popped into my head once I heard we had to think of game ideas. This game would improve memory and it will teach you signs would have to buy a book. This is not a fun game that is running around chasing anyone or jumping across buildings trying to solve tasks but it is more about getting your brain working and thinking hmm I see this sign last time I think I remember what it means. This will be an educational game. You can interact with your family or friends and ask them what road sign is this and maybe play games with the game for example who guesses the sign the quickest to add some adrenaline into your life. This could be something like those guessing games. I found some articles talking about how games are not just to have fun but also to educate yourself and others around you. I agree that some games are just boring and you don't want to play after the first few rounds but when it is something educational I am always down to play it.
