Learning Challenge : Sleep Deprivation
Sleep Deprivation
This article confirmed that if I do not sleep enough I will start becoming crazy, not just my mind but my body will develop disorders and I can possibly end up in the hospital.
I learned that from not enough sleep you can start hallucinating and develop long-term memory impairment which I never knew and it is kind of scary to find out. Walseban - "sleep loss can cause psychological damage because sleep regulates the brain’s flow of epinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin, chemicals closely associated with mood and behavior" which I knew because whenever I don't get enough sleep I feel like my brain is just floating around somewhere else and I can't concentrate or do any work and you better know not to ask me any questions because I will snap at you. These are some serious things that can happen if you do not get enough sleep, high blood pressure, diabetes, a heart attack, and even a heart stroke. So please have your 7 to 9 hours of sleep and let your body rest itself.
I am curious about exploring my sleeping schedule and seeing if I can have one. I suffer from staying up late and doing all my work at 1 am and waking up at 9 am being tired and only getting around 4 hours of sleep. I would like to change my schedule so that every day I would go sleep at the same time and wake up at the same time but I know sometimes that is impossible especially when there is a lot of college work waiting for you.
Sleep
Wow, I really should learn about the effects of sleep deprivation. That is an extremely interesting study. As proud I am of getting stuff done its the fact I do them whilst losing sleep. I feel this ties into Time management because... the better someone manages their time, the better sleep they would get. I relate to your article a lot. I wish not to sound controversial but I think we as a society and our generation underestimate the value of sleep to be honest.
ReplyDeleteYeah I get so excited cause it’s like 2am and I am getting things done but then next day I wake up feeling horrible. We do underestimate the value of sleep !
