Week 9 Reading and Writing

 Looking back

Looking back at all the work done for this module I am very happy and confident and I can say that I have put all my effort and best work into this module. I have tried my very best to learn new things and read/analyze the readings so that I could understand them better. I wanted to analyze the readings in my blog posts so that others could understand them too. I find the writing assignments and the blog posts therapeutical and they make me feel more relaxed.

My favorite reading so far has been about game design. After the reading, I found out that to create a game you don't have to be some sort of gamer genius who knows anything and everything about games but you simply could just draw a line and a character that runs from an enemy and voila, there is a start of a game. Before any of the readings, I thought game design was simply adding things into a nice background and somehow make them move but soon I realised that there is coding, scripts, rigidbodys and the list goes on and on.

Each week the readings got more into depth with game design but the previous readings did stick in my mind and I would check back onto my blog posts sometimes to see what this meant again or what other elements meant.

I am not much of a reader but I discovered that I learn better from videos. The long academic readings did not make me entertained or fascinated but the videos , I could watch them all day! The short readings were great too, they dived into whatever the reading was about quicker and straight to the point and it was easy to understand them. I learned many new things about gaming that I never even knew existed which is great I think.

Am I happy with my game project?

I am happy with my game project. I have accomplished things that I never thought I could even if it is just opening Unity and importing some files 😁. My project is getting along, she is thriving even if she is still a tiny bit slow but yeah hopefully the project will meet my standards and what I wanted to accomplish even if it is not everything. I will be proud of whatever my game will look like because I know I put a lot of sweat and hard work trying to make it work even if it doesn't want to.

My biggest accomplishment in this class is that I kept my work up to date and never procrastinated even though I did want to, many times yet my brain was like NO!, YOU ARE CHALLENGING YOURSELF NOW! Which I did and I am happy I did because it didn't put as much stress on me like it could have.

Success is close

This is my favourite image from my "Reading" posts.  This image represents a ladder and how success is so close but you need many steps to get to it. I like this image because it represent this module very well. The steps are every task we need to complete and the success will be there but you have to take one step at a time in order to get to success and I kind of love that.

Looking forward

Looking forward I would like to keep learning new things about this module and just keep on challenging myself every step of the way.
